The Best Thermal Printer for Online Sellers

For just over two years, I used a $20 printer I found on Amazon & the free USPS blank labels to ship thousands of items on Poshmark & elsewhere. Before that, I printed on plain old 8.5x11 paper and got my scissors and tape out! I say all that to underscore that I know you don’t need fancy tools to get started.

With lower cost of goods during the pandemic, I had some extra cash to spend and thought this would be the best time to buy a thermal printer!

It’s not the DYMO, Rollo, or Zebra, because regardless of all the hype across the board, I just cannot get passed the fact that any printer more than $50 would not be wireless. (I mean c’mon, I can ask Alexa to order my toilet paper, but I can’t print my shipping labels wirelessly on a DYMO?!) *cue Brother QL1110NWB*

Ok, the name doesn’t roll off the tongue, but after plenty of research, this is the only thermal printer I’ve found that has wireless capability (works via WiFi or Bluetooth) AND prints 4x6 thermal labels. I can print directly from my phone, tablet or even Angel’s computer - wherever!

I have to give a shoutout to The College Picker reviews of basically every printer there is because his Youtube video really helped seal the deal for me. It works on Mac, Windows, Android, and iPhone making my shipping process exceedingly fast by comparison to the old cut-and-tape method.

Brother recommends you use their branded labels, but lucky for me, I found some off-brand BETCKEY DK1241 labels on Amazon that I purchased in bulk, saving me even more. The price ($279 for me in May 2020) is more than most, but for the ease of use, I was happy to pay it. It was 100% worth every penny.

2021 EDIT: These printers are only available on Amazon or directly from Brother, though, they continuously go out of stock. Many of the third party sellers price gauge, so if you really are interested and it isn’t available check back frequently to see when it may be back in stock. available again!
